We collect 95% of our furniture jobs ourselves, within 150 miles of our Concord shop. If your Brown Jordan or Tropitone set is too heavy to move yourself, or your community has restricted loading access, we handle the logistics from the first call to the final delivery: pickup, transport, restoration, and return.

We restore any brand of outdoor furniture. Brown Jordan and Tropitone come up most often because we are factory-endorsed by both, but the process is the same whatever you own: Woodard, O.W. Lee, Mallin, a set from a design showroom, or a set with no label left on it at all. If the frame is sound, we can restore it.

TL;DR

  • We offer furniture pickup and return delivery as a standing service across the Bay Area from our Concord shop. Outside the Bay Area but inside 150 miles? We quote it case by case.

  • The service is built for large, heavy outdoor sets, including premium aluminum and wrought iron pieces from brands like Brown Jordan and Tropitone.

  • Coverage includes Marin County, the Lamorinda corridor (Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga), and the Diablo corridor (Alamo, Danville, Blackhawk, Diablo, Walnut Creek).

  • Call Glenn Holcomb at 925-787-4851 to schedule pickup and describe your set, location, and any access details.

What Does the Pickup and Delivery Service Include?

We built this service for homeowners sending furniture to our Concord shop for restoration. It is not a general moving service and does not include on-site assembly or installation work. The focus is on getting heavy, valuable outdoor sets to and from the shop safely.

What’s included What this means for you
Scheduled pickup We coordinate a collection time that fits your schedule, including access planning for gated or restricted properties
Protected transport Pieces are wrapped, padded, and loaded carefully to prevent surface damage, scratches, and moisture exposure during the drive
Return delivery Once restoration is complete, we transport your set back and place it at your property

This service is built around the kinds of sets that are impractical to move without a proper vehicle and crew: large dining tables, deep-seating sectionals, heavy wrought iron chairs, and multi-piece aluminum frames. For a broader look at what the restoration process involves, see the Outdoor Furniture Restoration Guide.

How Is Patio Furniture Protected During Transport?

Moving heavy outdoor furniture without preparation is how finishes get scratched and joints get stressed. Guidance on moving and protecting furniture is consistent on this point: clean and dry each piece before wrapping, document its condition, and use protective materials suited to the material type.

Our transport approach follows the same logic:

  • Clean and dry first. Grit trapped under a moving blanket acts like sandpaper during vibration. Moisture sealed inside wrapping accelerates corrosion on metal frames, particularly in coastal areas like Tiburon or Ross where salt air is already a factor.

  • Pad and wrap each piece individually. Moving blankets and stretch wrap protect powder coated frames, glass table tops, and sling materials from contact damage during loading and transit.

  • Disassemble where practical. Modular sectionals and tables with removable bases travel more safely in parts. Disassembly reduces stress on joints and makes it easier to pack pieces without stacking pressure on finished surfaces.

  • Secure loads for the road. Pieces are stabilized in the vehicle to prevent shifting. Bay Area roads, particularly on routes through Marin and the Diablo foothills, involve enough turns and grade changes to move unsecured furniture.

  • Photograph condition before and after loading. A visual record of the set’s pre-transport state protects both parties and speeds up any insurance or warranty discussion if needed.

This is restoration transport, not generic furniture hauling. The difference shows up at every step:

Restoration transport (our truck) Generic furniture hauling
Piece-by-piece inventory before loading Items loaded by volume, not condition
Protective padding between contact surfaces Blanket wraps applied inconsistently
Pieces secured and separated in the vehicle Stacking common to maximize load space
Access and route confirmed before arrival Driver resolves access issues on the day
Condition noted on pickup and matched on return No baseline condition record

What Is the Pickup-to-Delivery Process?

The full journey from inquiry to finished set back on your patio follows a predictable sequence. Here is how it works:

  1. Call and describe the job. Contact Glenn Holcomb at 925-787-4851. Share details about the set: material, number of pieces, your location, and any access constraints. This is the point to mention gate codes, HOA delivery windows, narrow driveways, or building loading dock rules. No site visit is needed to start the conversation.

  2. Schedule a pickup time. We confirm a collection window that works for your schedule. In gated communities and managed properties, advance approval for delivery vehicles is standard practice, and we supply the driver details, vehicle information, and timing your HOA or building management requires.

  3. Collection day. The crew arrives, documents the set’s condition, wraps and loads each piece, and transports it to the Concord shop. You do not need to be present for the entire process, but being available at the start to walk through the set is useful.

  4. Restoration at the shop. Your furniture goes through the agreed restoration work, which may include powder coating, frame repairs where the frame can be brought back to our standards, cushion replacement made exclusively with Sunbrella® fabrics, or a combination. We quote the timeline with the job: most sets are back within a few weeks, and we quote the longer number, not the optimistic one.

  5. Return delivery. Once the work is complete, the set is wrapped again, transported back, and placed at your property. We cover aluminum patio furniture restoration and refinishing as well as other frame materials. The return delivery process is the same regardless of what the set is made from.

On timelines: Realistic timelines build more trust than speed claims. We do not offer same-week rush service for full patio sets, because finish quality depends on proper cure time. The Powder Coating Institute FAQ confirms that both metal temperature and dwell time must be fully met for a proper cure, and neither can be shortened without compromising finish durability.

On access planning: Most delivery delays for large items in the Bay Area happen at the gate or loading area, not during transit. We provide driver and vehicle details to your HOA or building manager in advance to remove that friction entirely.

Can We Collect From Gated Communities, Condos, and Restricted-Access Properties?

Yes. Properties across Marin, Lamorinda, and the Diablo corridor often have access requirements that catch unprepared carriers off guard. We confirm these details at the scheduling stage, not on the morning of pickup:

  • Gate codes and entry credentials for private driveways and community gates in areas such as Blackhawk, Diablo, and Ross.

  • HOA vendor registration where the community requires service providers to be pre-approved before entering.

  • Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests, which some gated communities and high-rise buildings ask of any vendor on-site. We provide one on request.

  • Truck size and weight limits on private roads in Tiburon, Kentfield, and Orinda.

  • Loading dock and service elevator reservations for multi-unit buildings where furniture cannot move through the main lobby.

  • Restricted delivery windows set by HOA rules that limit when service vehicles can operate.

We confirm these details at booking so the truck never arrives unable to get in.

What Areas Do We Cover for Furniture Pickup and Delivery?

We run furniture pickup and delivery from our Concord shop. Inside the Bay Area, pickup is a standing service. Outside the Bay Area but inside 150 miles? We quote it case by case. Priority service areas for outdoor furniture restoration include:

  • Marin County: Ross, Tiburon, Kentfield, Mill Valley, San Rafael

  • Lamorinda corridor: Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga

  • Diablo corridor: Alamo, Danville, Blackhawk, Diablo, Walnut Creek

This furniture pickup service is separate from other Finish Logic services. Wheel coating, Cerakote, and residential powder coating customers typically bring their items directly to the Concord shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas does the pickup and delivery service cover, and is there an extra charge outside Concord?

We run pickup and delivery from our Concord shop across the Bay Area, including Marin County, the Lamorinda corridor, and the Diablo corridor. Outside the Bay Area but inside 150 miles? We quote it case by case. Pricing for pickup and delivery is discussed when you call, because distance, set size, and access conditions all factor into the quote.

How is my furniture protected from scratches or damage during transport?

Each piece is cleaned and dried before wrapping, then padded with moving blankets and secured with stretch wrap. Loads are stabilized in the vehicle to prevent shifting during transit. Condition is documented with photos before loading and again on return.

Do I need to disassemble the set myself before pickup?

You do not need to disassemble anything before the crew arrives. For modular sets or tables with removable bases, disassembly at pickup is often the safer approach and our crew handles it. Call ahead to describe the set so the crew arrives prepared.

How long after pickup should I expect delivery back?

We quote the timeline with the job, once we know the set size, the scope of work, and any fabric lead times. Most sets are back within a few weeks, and we quote the longer number rather than the optimistic one. If you need the set back by a specific date, raise it when you call so pickup and delivery can be scheduled around it.

Can you collect from a gated community or building with restricted loading access?

Yes. Gated communities and HOA-managed properties are a routine part of the service. We supply driver and vehicle details to your gate or building management before collection day. Share any access restrictions, delivery time windows, or loading dock requirements when you call to schedule.
